What is a Chrome extension?

A Chrome extension is a small app that is built specially to be used with Google Chrome. Extensions appear as small icons to the top right in your browser. One of them could be Vaam! 😀

Can I use Vaam without the Chrome extension?

For now, Vaam is only compatible with Google Chrome, but we’re working on adding other possibilities to record Vaams!

Is there a desktop app?

Not yet, but we’re working on it as we speak!

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet, but we’ll make sure you have it as soon as possible. You can register for beta-testing before we launch it. Register here.

The Chrome extensions require permission to interact with all websites! 😱

We totally agree that it's scary to give a piece of software permissions to do things to any website that you visit. An evil company could write a program that spies on you or steals your information. We promise you that we're not that company 🙏 User security is always one of our top priorities. The reason that we require this extensive permission is so that you're able to record vaams from any website.

The extension works by inserting the bubble with the camera on the website your visiting. To do that, the extension needs permission to interact with the page. And since you might want to record a Vaam from any page, the extension needs permissions for all pages.
